Privacy
These are Artos privacy promises in plain language, written for families. This is product policy, not legal advice.
Who this is for
Artos is for individuals and families. You do not need an account to read Scripture or keep personal marks.
No tracking
We do not use analytics, advertising IDs, or other trackers that follow you. There is no social feed and no profile built from how you read.
Two kinds of data on your device
Open Scripture (for example the King James Version and any free editions you install) is library text on your device. Your personal marks (bookmarks, highlights, notes, labels, reading place, and preferences) live in a separate private vault on this phone.
Marks stay on this device
In this version of Artos, personal marks do not leave your device. We do not run a cloud account that receives your notes or highlights. If we ever offer optional encrypted sync, it will be clearly separate and never required for free reading or local marks.
Encrypted on device
Your personal marks are stored with encryption at rest (SQLCipher). The open Bible library is separate from that private vault.
We cannot read your notes
Because marks stay on your device, we never receive them. We cannot read them, sell them, share them, or use them to train AI.
Backups and reinstall
Where the platform allows, we keep private app data out of ordinary cloud device backups. If you reinstall Artos, clear app data, or move to a new phone, local marks may be lost until an optional recovery product exists.
When you leave the app
If you open a link, donation page, or other site from Artos, that place has its own privacy rules. We only open what you choose to open.
Hard nos
No ads. No selling your data. No training AI on your marks. No social graph of your reading.
Children and family
Artos is meant to be family-safe. Parents and guardians are responsible for how children use devices and apps in their care.
Changes
We may update these promises as the product grows. Important changes will show in the app, and on this site.
